ALA Midwinter 16 Schedule

Authors at ALA Midwinter

Norton, Liveright and Pegasus Books will all have authors in our booth and at events at ALA Midwinter!  It’s going to be an author-palooza.

Mark Kurlansky, bestselling author of Cod, Salt, and the forthcoming Paper, will be on the Booklist Author Forum on Friday, 4pm-5:15pm, with a signing to follow.

Nicole Dennis-Benn, debut author of Here Comes the Sun, about a family of women in Jamaica, will sign ARCs in our booth (1954) on Friday at 6:00pm.

Andre Dubus III will join Nancy Pearl for a wide-ranging conversation on Saturday at 1:00pm - 2:00pm in the Auditorium Speaker Series with a signing to follow.

Alison Case will sign copies of Nelly Dean: A Return to Wuthering Heights (Pegasus Books) in the Norton booth (1954) on Saturday at 2:00pm.  This book has received a starred Library Journal review, and it comes out in February so you could nominate it for LibraryReads by 12/20 if you so desire.

Lawrence Hill, author of Someone Knows My Name (aka The Book of Negroes) will sign ARCs of The Illegal, his new fast-paced novel that Booklist calls a “deeply satisfying story shot through with humor and humanity” in our booth (1954) on Sunday at 2pm.  Lawrence Hill will also join Chris Cleave, Simon van Booy, Helen Simonson & more at the AAP/LibraryReads BookTalk Breakfast on Monday morning.  RSVP required

Liz Moore, author of one of my favorites, Heft, and the forthcoming The Unseen World (which I loved!) will join Janice Y. K. Lee, Jennifer Haigh, Val McDermid and more at the United for Libraries Gala Author Tea on Monday at 2pm.  Tickets are required.

ARC Giveaways!

We’ll be featuring ARCs of forthcoming books by Lydia Millet, John Dufresne, Michelle Adelman, Daniel Raeburn, Elizabeth Kelly, Edward O. Wilson & many more!

Get a head start by requesting digital reading copies on Edelweiss or on Netgalley.

Or come by booth 1954 to talk about our recent and forthcoming titles (including some kids books), suggestions for your reading groups, or whatever else you want to discuss.
